In private practice since 1992, plus 20 years experience providing assessment, therapy, and psycho-educational services to clients in psychiatric hospitals, community mental health programs, correctional settings. I have also enjoyed supervising students, psychology residents, and counselor interns.

One thing that separates us from other creatures is our ability to think about our thought processes. That's what we do when we look inside ourselves. We do it naturally. We do it every day. We have thoughts and then we think about our thoughts. It's an active process. We explore where our thoughts come from and what they mean. We judge our thoughts as good or bad depending on whether they are consistent with who we are, or even more with who we think we should be.
